What is your role and how long have you worked at The Institutes?
I'm Head of Digital Distribution at the Insurance Information Institute (Triple-I), affiliated with The Institutes. In this role, I lead strategies for the organization across the digital ecosystem, including the website and social media. I've been with Triple-I since January 2020.
What inspired you to get into your current role?
I've been in the digital space for a few years, and I like the efficiencies technology provides within my role and the team. With that said, I'm a storyteller at heart, and I enjoy creating impactful and educational content for insurance industry professionals and consumers.
What accomplishments are you most proud of professionally and/or personally?
In addition to my professional career, I served as a New York Board Member for Step Up, a national non-profit that provides mentorship programs to young women in underserved communities. Mentorship has played an essential part in my life. I recognize the need as a Black professional to be seen and guide the next generation within my community.
What is something most people don't know about you?
I’m a fan of the opera and have been going to performances every year since I was a child. Most recently I attended “Fire Shut Up in My Bones” at The Metropolitan Opera, where Terence Blanchard became the first Black composer at Lincoln Center and “The Life and Times of Malcolm X” with music by Anthony Davis
What does Black History Month mean to you?
Every month is Black History Month for me. It calls me to action. Every month, every week, and every day, I remind myself of my ancestors' sacrifices and use their stories as strength to persevere through any challenge that comes my way.
